The Capsule Wardrobe | Bye Bye Shopping Fails and Styling Problems

... and it's not as difficult to implement as you might think.

The basis of a Capsule Wardrobe are fashion basics - timeless classics in good quality.

They harmonize with all other garments and just striking parts balance them ideally by creating a subtle counterpoint.

The following basics are essential pieces in the perfect capsule wardrobe in our opinion:

The black blazer

Perennial favorite blazer! No other jacket manages to look elegant, casual and damn cool at the same time.

Important when choosing the right blazer, are cut and material. When choosing a model, make sure that it flatters your body shape. There are now no rules here. Whether slightly oversized or fitted and hip-length, single or double-breasted... Try different cuts to find out which harmonizes with your figure and more importantly: in which you feel most comfortable.

A blazer made of wool or at least with a high wool content, you can already see the good quality and it is also durable and will accompany you for many years.

Ivy & Oak or COS offer a great selection and quality.

The white and gray T-shirt

A simple short-sleeved shirt in white or gray is the absolute key piece of your wardrobe and regularly seen on the trendiest influencers.

Whether under a blazer, a chunky cardigan, in summer with shorts or an elegant silk skirt - a white or gray shirt is the ultimate combination talent. Here it is especially important that you invest in a high-quality model, so that it does not get out of shape after a few washes. Go for organic cotton, viscose or linen.

At Armed Angels or pinqponq you will find the perfect models.

The men shirt

A shirt blouse in white or light blue is another absolute must-have basic for every closet, because it is incredibly versatile. Ideally, the shirt blouse looks like borrowed from the boyfriend ;)

Leggings, pencil skirt, jeans, wool pants, ... the combination possibilities are endless and so is the dwell time of this great basic in your Capsule Wardrobe!

COS and Arket always have a nice selection.

The Little Black

Perennial favorite Little Black Dress. From mini to midi, from super simple to fancy details. The LBD is a must-have in your closet and makes the change from office to night out look particularly easy - the combination of accessories is decisive for the look. Change jewelry, shoes and bag and the serious business outfit becomes a trendy clubbing combination.

We love the sustainable models from Ivy & Oak.

The jeans

A basic pair of jeans without holes or washes is also one of the capsule wardrobe essentials. They can be combined with absolutely everything. Breaks are particularly exciting, so feel free to combine your fashionable or particularly feminine tops with them here. Very important is a good fit and a flattering cut. Whether skinny jeans, straight or flared is purely a matter of taste. Tip: Take a friend with you when shopping and ask her to take a photo from behind. This way you can ideally judge the fit.

Armed Angels, Levis and Closed are our favorite denim labels.

Minimalist flip flops

We're happy that our iconic model is one of the absolute essentials of a capsule wardrobe! Whether in black or white, the toe separator has been by far the most casual and trend-independent summer shoe for decades. It goes with all looks and is now also accepted far away from the beach and pool.

The flip*flop original is, as the name suggests, THE original and particularly comfortable, durable and 100% vegan.

Combine the casual all-rounder especially cool with jeans, tank top and open shirt blouse or with a tight-fitting black tank dress.

The wool coat

The beige wool coat is the epitome of timeless elegance and should therefore not be missing in any closet. But it is not only in this color variant that it is a key piece. Gray, black and navy are also a good choice. Details such as zippers, noble buttons or specially cut collars and sleeves... find a model here that suits your look.

When it comes to the material, wool should have the highest proportion and in combination with cashmere, the coat not only looks super noble, but also feels like pure luxury.

There are great models in different price ranges, including Max Mara, Ivy & Oak, COS.

The leather jacket

At some point, the leather jacket came out of the biker corner, into the high-fashion world and is now indispensable as a basic for every stylish woman. It goes with everything and gives even the most elegant look a cool, rocky touch.

The more feminine the remaining parts (e.g. skirt or dress), the bigger the style break and more exciting the look.

Here, too, there are numerous models and cuts with more or less eye-catching details. Clean and slightly oversized cut models like from The Frankie Shop are super modern, shorter, figure-hugging styles rather very classic - again a pure matter of taste. Of course there are also beautiful models made of vegan leather! Our first choice :)

The office pants

Fabric trousers - ideally made of a wool or cotton blend - are the dressy alternative to jeans and can be styled for any occasion aside from the office. The following cuts are just as classic as they are figure-flattering: slim-fitting chinos, wide Marlene pants or a very straight, slightly shortened cut.

The Color should be chosen from the basic palette and in a rather dark tone, such as gray, navy, brown or black.

Super nice models in great quality you can find at Someday, COS, or Arket.

In summary:

Important in the selection of key-piece models are the materials, cuts and colors.

The material determines the longevity and the visual, as well as tangible value of the favorite piece.

Cuts should be chosen according to personal preference and figure type - the less details, the better the basic will fit into your capsule wardrobe.

As for the colors, you should give priority to calm, muted tones. But don't worry, there is a lot more variety than black and white. Warm earth tones are particularly classy and harmonize great with accessories in trendy green or purple. Lighter shades like taupe, beige or cream are also nice options in the basic wardrobe. Different shades of gray are a great complement to black and white, as they offer even more variation.

Tip: Completely monochrome looks look minimalist and super-modern.

We hope you have fun putting together your Capsule Wardrobe and have carefree looks in your closet!
